East Tyrol is THE destination for ski tourers per se. 266 three thousand metres high mountains as well as 1,500 square kilometres of pristine nature are waiting to be discovered. Villgraten Valley is a MUST for anyone who loves to be the first to put their tracks in the snow – it is the only valley in East Tyrol that has never ever seen a ski lift. If you like to push your limits, then you should take the Hoch Tirol Ski Route. This route takes you past some of the most beautiful peaks in the Eastern Alps, including the Grossglockner (3,798 metres) and the Großvenediger (3,666 meters), in six days. The East Tyrol region even offers novices some beginners‘ tours leading uphill to almost 3,000 metres above sea level.

Ski touring service & more
Many professional ski and mountain guides in the East Tyrol also ensure an unforgettable ski touring experience. If you want to gain new knowledge and meet like-minded people, apart from being physically active, then come and attend the annual Ski Touring Festival in Villgraten Valley.
