The Olympiaregion Seefeld is situated in the heart of the Alps and is surrounded by the largest nature park in the Eastern Alps thus offering perfect cross-country skiing conditions. Amateur cross-country skiers as well as pros have been coming to the Olympic region for decades to enjoy the 262 kilometres of perfectly groomed cross-country ski tracks which have been awarded by the ADAC several times already. The cross-country ski tracks are surrounded by the beautiful alpine landscape and are, in part, even groomed for both styles of cross-country skiing. Here you will find diverse, quality-approved routes of all levels of difficulty and a high level of snow-reliability. Europe’s most modern biathlon facility is also situated in this impressive region. Many national teams are regular guests here.  

Barrier-free cross-country skiing

A special objective for the renowned region is accessibility. 44.5 kilometres of cross-country ski tracks offer sports enthusiasts using wheelchairs or sit-skis everything the heart desires. Olympiaregion Seefeld focuses especially on the safety of its guests and continues to develop its competence in cross-country skiing even further: Thanks to a professional cross-country ski track rescue concept has the region been able to half the time required for dealing with accidents.

Delightful cross-country ski tracks and night cross-country skiing

The beautiful, snow-covered winter landscapes are best explored on delightful cross-country ski tracks. There is constantly something new to discover – from frozen alpine lakes to quaint huts inviting for a stop. The delightful Leutaschtal cross-country ski track was especially designed in such way that cross-country skiers can enjoy the unique natural landscape on a relatively flat cross-country ski track. Sun plateaus and viewpoints along the cross-country ski tracks invite to rest and to discover the region. The charm of a wintry full moon night is best enjoyed on the lit cross-country ski night tracks in Seefeld and Leutasch where cross-country ski enthusiasts can glide through the night in the glistening light of the moon.

Nordic Competence Centre

The professional infrastructure around the Nordic Competence Centre, offering cross-country skiing, biathlon as well as ski jumping,  in the Olympiaregion Seefeld is also for the benefit of the guests. There are qualified cross-country ski instructors teaching beginners the basic techniques in an easy-to-understand way. The advanced can train here for races under the supervision of professionals. At the Nordic Competence Centre, guests get also the chance to have a go at biathlon.

Thanks to the Olympiaregion Seefeld’s snow farming project the region offers a track of 4 kilometre from the 11th of November.

The famous Olympiaregion Seefeld with its villages of Leutasch, Mösern/Buchen, Seefeld, Reith and Scharnitz has been the venue for the Nordic competitions during the Winter Olympics twice so far. The region situated on one of the most beautiful plateaus in the Alps is known as the Mecca of cross-country skiing and is top-ranking when it comes to snow-reliability. Olympiaregion Seefeld also boasts one of the most modern biathlon facilities in Europe. Many national teams are regular guests here. The cross-country ski trails are surrounded by the beautiful alpine landscape and are, in part, even groomed for both styles of cross-country skiing. In addition, seven of the quality-approved cross-country ski trails of all levels of difficulty, totalling 44.5 kilometres, guarantee accessible cross-country skiing pleasure for sportsmen and women using wheelchairs and adaptive Nordic skiers. The Olympiaregion Seefeld also offers special cross-country ski trails for four-legged companions.

A stunning panoramic view across the unique mountain world is waiting for ski tourers in the Olympiaregion Seefeld. The region offers a range of ski tours of all levels of difficulty. A special highlight is the weekly ski touring evening of the Rosshütte mountain railways.

Biathlon in the Olympiaregion Seefeld

Biathlon enthusiasts will find one of Europe’s most modern biathlon facilities at the Seefeld Nordic Competence Centre with 30 small-bore shooting stands as well as 5 shooting stands for air rifles. Because of the snow farming concept, the cross-country ski tracks can be used already from November onward. As an alternative, there is a new 3.6 kilometres long roller ski track which can be extended in length and altitude metres.

Von Tageskursen im klassischen und Skating-Stil für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene bis hin zu Videoanalysen und Vorträgen namhafter Hersteller wird alles, was das Langläuferherz höher schlagen lässt, geboten. Teststationen der Firmen Atomic, Exel, Salomon und Fischer runden das vielfältige Angebot ab. 2nd "Kaiser Maximilian Lauf" - Cross Country Skiing race

2017-01-14 - 2017-01-15

Set to take place from 14th to 15th January 2017, the 2nd Kaiser Maximilian Lauf race in Seefeld will offer a superlative cross-country ski event of the highest sporting calibre here in the heart of the Tyrolean Alps. On Saturday, 14th January 2017, the first group of athletes will take part in the class-style contest, while Sunday, 15th January 2017, sees the turn of the skaters. Leading from Seefeld to Mösern to Unterleutasch and back to Seefeld, both routes cover a distance of 60 kilometers.

4. FIS Weltcup Nordic Combined Triple

2017-01-27 - 2017-01-29

Just like the FOUR HILLS TOURNAMENT for ski jumpers and the TOUR DE SKI for cross-country skiers, now there’s also the NORDIC COMBINED TRIPLE. Another highlight of the season from 27th to 29th January 2017 is established.

The competition schedule:
On Friday:
Individual event, world cup - one jump and 5 km cross-country skiing
On Saturday:
Individual event, world cup - one jump and 10 km cross-country skiing
At the grand finale on Sunday: Taking with them the accumulated time penalties from Friday and Saturday, the best 30 athletes take part in two jumps followed by 15 km of cross-country skiing.

47th Eurolpppet Ganghoferlauf (Cross-Country Race)

2017-03-04 - 2017-03-05

Running in 25 km, 50 km classic categories (on Saturday) as well as skating on 20 km or 42 km (on Sunday), participants compete for the coveted Ganghofer Trophy and significant prize money. As well as a personalised starting number (advance registration necessary), each participant reiceves as well-filled starting package. Saturday, meanwhile, is devoted to the "Mini-Ganghofer Trail" for the youngest cross-country runners and to all classic fans. The young participants can expect to receive valuable prizes and have a huge amount of fun while doing so. An attractive supporting programme is also provided off the trail itself.
